COMPUTE IT, never store a fixed date: the Monday closest to fifteen days from today. Run `python3 scripts/start_date.py` at fill time (--format iso | us | uk | long to match the field). As of 19 Aug 2026 that is Monday 31 August 2026. A stored date goes stale within days and a wrong start date on an application is worse than none. NOTE the tension to watch: on some days the closest Monday falls SHORT of the 15-day notice period (from 19 Aug it is 12 days out), so a form asking both notice period and earliest start can end up self-contradictory. Where a form asks both, give 15 days as the notice and the computed Monday as the date, and if the gap is under 15 days prefer the following Monday so the two answers agree.
